Embryology Lab
The heart of an Assisted Reproduction Center is its Embryology Laboratory. In there, our embryologists are working to make your dream of a healthy baby come true.

The embryology laboratory is the place where the embyros are monitored to ensure a good embryonic development. It is the responsibility of the embryologist to decide which fertilisation system to use, the need or not to carry out genetic diagnoses, to maintain the adequate incubation systems and to apply the appropriate techniques for each situation. Finally, they will decide which embryos are the most appropriate to transfer and achieve the desired pregnancy.
This is not an easy task at all. It is not enough to only rely on the latest technology of cultive media or laboratory equipment (incubators, laminar flow cabinets, air filtration methods, etc.). For an IVF (in vitro fertilisation) laboratory to be a reference, it must meet the requirements and ideal conditions for the results to be excellent. In addition, you must have a team of professionals with extensive experience, great ambitions and willing to evolve at the pace of the scientific advances.
The embryology laboratory team at Fertility Clinic Tambre
The embryology laboratory team at Fertility Clinic Tambre counts on seven embryologists. All of them are specialised in genetics, cell cultures, physiology, biotechnology and scientific methodology. This training is complemented by their extensive knowledge in bioethics and legislation on Human Assisted Reproduction. Two of our embryologists have also obtained the title “Senior Embryologist” from the European Society of Human Reproduction & Embryology (ESHRE).
In our embryology laboratory we also support training and young talent. The students of the Master of Human Reproduction of the Spanish Fertility Society have the possibility to reinforce their skills in our laboratory according to their needs. Specifically, Fertility Clinic Tambre is a reference center in this master.
At Fertility Clinic Tambre we share the experience of our embryologists team. They can clear all your doubts about the results of your semen analysis, the quality of your oocytes, the embryonic quality, etc. Furthermore, you can exchange your impressions about performed treatments or even consult them about future fertility cycles.
A laboratory equipped with the most innovative technology
To assure our patients the maximum benefits, we perform periodic laboratory audits. The prestigious Canadian company Bioozoa, directed by Dr. Mortimer, checks each of the procedures and products used in the laboratory and reviews our performance. Additionally, the laboratory is subject to the external quality control of the UK NEQAS for Reproductive Science.
