What is Artificial Insemination?
Artificial Insemination involves placing spermatozoa, previous selected from a sample, into the uterus during ovulation. It can come from your partner (AIH) or from a donor (AID) This is a simple assisted reproduction technique with few side effects for the female and which has high pregnancy rates in recommended situations. This is the simplest assisted reproduction technique.
Types of Artificial Insemination
Depending on how the moment of ovulation is reached, when the insemination is carried out and the origin of the semen, the following treatment types can be distinguished:
Sperm quality is a key factor in the final result. If pregnancy has not been achieved after the third or fourth attempt, depending on the case, we may consider switching to more complicated techniques such as In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF).
